Having grown up in rural Pennsylvania I happen to live next to a wonderful walking trail known as the Perkiomen trail. I use this trail almost daily and view the people of our community who choose to exercise outdoors by walking, running, or biking. Most would not fall into the typical “gym member” category. Actually, most of American’s choose not to exercise formally, meaning only about 18% of Pennsylvanian’s exercise at all.
The lack of exercise participation makes sense when we look at whom we are and what is important in our lives. Americans love food. Currently, 64.5 percent of U.S. adults, age 20 years and older, are overweight and 30.5 percent are obese. The numbers are almost as bad for our children, (American Obesity Association), American’s also love their families, their job, sports, their cars, their home’s, video games, computers and TV.
The difference between RASCALS FITNESS and any other health club is that we say GREAT. We love food too, our family, our job, sports, cars, our home, video games, computers, (well not that much on computers), and TV. We understand this stuff absorbs most of our time and shortens our days. It also leaves very little income to spare. Even though we at RASCALS FITNESS make our living selling fitness, we know and understand there is MORE TO LIFE THAN FITNESS.
So…how do you become a RASCAL?
A "RASCAL" understands that in order to enjoy life they need to do whatever it takes to participate.

What do we mean by this? Simply…it’s O.K. to say YES to the ice cream and cookies, but you also have to spend a little time participating in exercise. To accomplish this we have created a facility with a low monthly fee and tons of equipment. We also have made the gym for the average guy or girl, not the “meat head”. When you come into RASCALS FITNESS for the first time you will see that we even sell cookies, (Chocolate chip or Oatmeal raisin), to remind you that we are a “different kind of gym”. A gym that understands that it’s O.K. to live your life how you want as long as you take some time out of your day to be healthy as well!
Welcome to RASCALS!
